Series LC40 Float Level Switches

The LC40 Series consists of simple, robust float-operated level switches with a versatile design that can be adapted to different control positions in industrial processes. They allow side or top mounting on tanks, provide a tight and safe installation, excellent chemical resistance, and are suitable for high pressure and high temperature applications.

Operating Principle

When the liquid reaches the level where the switch is installed, the float follows the level variation and moves the articulated rod. A magnet located at the opposite end of the rod actuates the switching element (microswitch, reed switch, inductive NAMUR detector or pneumatic switch, depending on requirements).

Characteristics

  • Models: LC40 (side mounting), LC40-BA (side mounting), LC40-V (top mounting), LC40-VR (top mounting).

  • Materials: Float, rod, flange — EN 1.4404 (AISI 316L), PVC, PP, PTFE, PVDF; housing — anodized aluminum (IP66/IP67), other materials on request.

  • Temperature: AISI 316L: -50°C to +150°C (up to +300°C on request); PVC: 0°C to +50°C; PP: -20°C to +90°C; PTFE/PVDF: -20°C to +150°C; ambient: -30°C to +80°C.

  • Pressure: AISI 316L: PN16 (others on request); PP, PVC, PTFE: PN10.

  • Connections: Flanged EN 1092-1 DN65 (other sizes and standards such as ASME B16.5, JIS on request); special square flange 92 × 92 / 108 × 108 mm.

  • Technical parameters: Switching differential: 52 mm (up to 1100 mm with accessories); liquid density: 0.45–3 kg/l; max. viscosity: 3000 mPa·s; switching elements: AMM (SPDT microswitch, 3 A 220 VAC / 0.5 A 24 VDC, -25°C to +85°C), AMD (inductive NAMUR detector 8.2 VDC), AMR (SPDT reed switch, 0.5 A 220 VAC / 60 VA), AMP (pneumatic ON/OFF, 2–6 bar, 0°C to +50°C); all switches available in ATEX Ex d IIC T6 version; protection IP66/IP67.

  • Options: ATEX Ex d IIC T6 version, extended temperature range, accessories for increased switching differential (A21), external mounting chamber.
