Pepperl+Fuchs Positioning Systems: Precision, Reliability, and Process Safety

Pepperl+Fuchs Positioning Systems are cutting-edge technology solutions that combine optical, camera-based, and inductive methods for ultra-precise position detection across all industrial applications. We guarantee high reliability, process safety, and cost-efficiency, even in the most demanding operating environments.

1. Inductive Positioning Systems (PMI)

PMI Inductive Systems are the ideal choice for linear position detection and rotational angle measurement. They are non-contact and immune to dirt, dust, moisture, and extreme temperatures, as they only require a simple steel actuator for operation, eliminating the need for a special target.

  • F90 Series: Offers IO-Link integration, simultaneous detection of two elements, and combines measuring and switching functions. ATEX versions are available for potentially explosive areas.

  • F112 Series: Provides high-precision positioning (up to 14 mm accuracy) in a compact, IP67 metal housing. Perfect for applications with limited space.

  • F110 Series: Designed for long measuring distances (up to 810 mm) and ensures reliable position detection even with significant mechanical tolerances, thanks to a large read distance (up to 6 mm).

  • F130 Series: A non-contact system for angle measurement from 0° to 360°, converting the angular position into the standard 4–20 mA analog signal, commonly used for valve position feedback.

2. Optical Positioning Systems

Pepperl+Fuchs optical solutions ensure exceptional reliability over long distances and in specialized applications:

  • WCS (Position Encoding System): A robust system using a metal or plastic code rail, ideal for accurate positioning in harsh environments, such as port facilities.

  • PCV (DataMatrix Positioning System): A highly reliable system using a 2D camera and a multi-redundant Data Matrix code tape. It offers high resistance to contamination or partial damage to the code tape.

  • PGV (Position Guided Vision): A specialized solution for Automated Guided Vehicles (AGV). It uses optical tracking of a colored tape, DataMatrix codes for precise positioning, and control codes for navigation.

  • PHA (Vision Sensor): Developed for high-precision rack positioning in high-bay warehouses. It determines the position by reading existing holes in the rack system and can operate in deep-freeze environments (down to -30°C).
