Pepperl+Fuchs vibration sensors provide intelligent advanced warning and vibration diagnostics, up to SIL 2 safety levels. They reliably detect changes in measured values, allowing predictive maintenance to be undertaken before costly damage or failures occur, ensuring maximum machine availability.

Monitoring and Standards

Changes in vibration characteristics may indicate misalignment, bearing wear, or impending failures. Machine condition assessment is based on DIN ISO 10816 (20816) and DIN ISO 13373-3 standards. Data on vibration speed (for misalignment diagnostics) and vibration acceleration (for bearing damage diagnostics) is used.

• VIM6 Series – Perfect for Extended Temperature Ranges: Interface: Analog 4–20 mA. Temperature: From -40 to +125 degrees Celsius. Measures speed, acceleration, and temperature. Has global approvals for use in hazardous areas (Ex).

• VIM8 Series – For Challenging Outdoor Applications: Interface: Analog 4–20 mA. Temperature: From -35 to +125 degrees Celsius. Ideal for mining or offshore sectors. Measures crest value for bearing condition classification. Rotary switches (CAM switches) allow manual limit setting. Certified to SIL 2/PL d.

IO-Link: Flexible and Reliable Solution (VIM3 IO-Link)

The VIM3 IO-Link vibration sensors combine condition monitoring with IO-Link communication and meet SIL 1 functional safety requirements. They provide cyclic transmission of process data. Parameters, such as the frequency range, can be modified via IO-Link. Settings are saved in the IO-Link master and are automatically transferred to a new device upon replacement.
