Algorithm for automatic pump cleaning in FR-F800 series inverters
Algorithm for automatic pump cleaning in FR-F800 series inverters Inverters of the FR-F 800 series produced by Mitsubishi Electric are equipped with a number of solutions for increasing the energy efficiency of drive systems. One of them is the automatic pump cleaning algorithm.
How does the automatic pump cleaning algorithm help save energy?
Clogging of pumping systems has been a problem for pumping stations for many years, especially in wastewater treatment systems. Pump impellers used for sewage treatment can become clogged or worn, reducing the efficiency of the pump, and in some cases, this can cause the pump to completely jam, resulting in additional maintenance costs. To combat this problem and help maximize pump uptime, the FR-F800 inverter series' pump cleaning feature uses a programmable timing sequence of reverse and forward pump rotation to remove loose materials from the impeller. This reduces the cost of simple and manual cleaning, as well as lowers the pump's operating costs by increasing the average efficiency of the pump.
