Why won’t a solenoid valve open even though power is supplied?
Is a solenoid valve failing to operate? The cause isn’t necessarily down to the solenoid coil.
Possible reasons include:
- Insufficient differential pressure in servo-controlled valves
- Contamination inside the valve
- Blocked or stiff moving parts
- Insufficient supply voltage under load
- Unsuitable operating conditions
Particularly important: With servo-controlled valves, a minimum differential pressure is often required for the valve to open reliably.
Our tip: Before replacing a valve, you should first check the electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic operating conditions.
