What makes Mitsubishi VFD special? (Part 1)
\Mitsubishi Electric: More Than 20 Million VFDs Shipped — The Result of Global Experience
Years of experience, global production capabilities, and an unwavering focus on quality form the foundation of Mitsubishi Electric's variable frequency drive technology.
Mitsubishi Electric continues to develop automation technologies based on extensive experience in variable frequency drive (VFD) manufacturing. One of the company's key production facilities is Nagoya Works, where manufacturing expertise, engineering technologies, and comprehensive quality control come together.
From the first million to 20 million
The scale of Mitsubishi Electric's production reflects the company's long-term development of VFD technology. The cumulative number of VFD shipments exceeded 20 million units in November 2014.
Before reaching this milestone, production had successively passed major milestones of 0.5 million, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 10 and 15 million units.
A global approach to manufacturing
The development of production has been accompanied by the expansion of Mitsubishi Electric's international manufacturing capabilities. Total shipments include domestic production, exports, and overseas production.
This scale is the result of continuous development of manufacturing capabilities and technology.
Quality comes first
Behind this production scale stands Mitsubishi Electric's fundamental principle: “Quality is No.1 priority for our products.”
This principle will be the focus of the next story in our series — how Mitsubishi Electric builds quality into a VFD from the very beginning of the design process.
