Conveyor Belt Alignment Switches for Explosive Environments
In electrical and safety engineering, hazardous locations are places where fire or explosion hazards may exist. Sources of such hazards include gases, vapours, dust and fibres which are combustible or flammable.
IDEM’s range of conveyor belt alignment switches have been developed to operate in explosive environments. The internal contact block has been third party approved by IECEx to the latest ATEX standards.
Conveyor Belt Alignment switches are mounted on sections of plant conveyors to protect against excessive belt drift due to an unintentional movement. They can be fitted at appropriate points along the conveyor length to ensure that should the belt position drift, the roller arm of the switch will move to a pre-determined position and cause activation of a control circuit.
Heavy-Duty Materials: Constructed from high-grade materials (Die-Cast Metal or 316 Stainless Steel), our Belt Alignment Switches are built to withstand harsh industrial environments, including exposure to dust, moisture, and temperature extremes.
Advanced Alignment Monitoring: Each Python belt alignment switch contains two sets of contacts, one which indicates a warning signal (for maintenance purposes) and the other a stop signal, disconnecting the outputs and stopping the belt.
Adjustable Trip Points: The trip points are easily adjustable to suit specific operational requirements, providing flexibility and customized protection for different conveyor systems.
LED Indicators: Optional built-in LED indicators provide clear visual signals for normal operation, misalignment detection, and switch activation, enhancing operator awareness and safety.
