Wastewater pumps without ragging — FR-F800 / Bertelkamp

Distributor Bertelkamp Automation (US Southeast, ~40 years) and Mitsubishi Electric Automation fixed chronic pump clogging at a Tennessee wastewater plant.

Lift-station pumps needed weekly cleaning. An FR-F800 with built-in deragging was fitted as a trial. The drive detects clog symptoms and runs a forward/reverse clean cycle (in the case: every 12 hours) to shed rags and debris.

After the trial they delivered a packaged cabinet: FR-F800 + MELSEC iQ-R PLC + GOT2000 HMI, plus Mitsubishi start-up service and a five-year drive warranty.

Kent Smith (Bertelkamp): the cleaning function worked as advertised; duty cycle dropped and clogs were virtually eliminated.
