From bucket elevator to pellet: what CSC puts on a feed mill
CSC Automation has published a catalogue booklet, Equipment in Compound Feed Production. It is not a turnkey mill: the pellet mill, mixer and cooler stay with the process contractor. CSC supplies the instrumentation layer — sensors, weighing, valves, pumps, variable-speed drives, PLCs and field devices from grain intake to dispatch.
The booklet covers the elevator section, grinding and mixing, premix micro-dosing, pelleting, liquids (oil, molasses) and the process control system. A minimum starter upgrade package for an existing plant is set out separately:
-
frequency converters on bucket elevators, the hammer mill and aspiration fans — a fast cut in power use;
-
level measurement and protection of silos and elevators — fewer breakdowns in season;
-
gravimetric premix micro-dosing — a stable recipe and a quality archive;
-
moisture ahead of the press and dust control — pellet durability and a safer workshop.
The booklet is for the plant engineer, the energy manager and purchasing at a feed mill or an integrated farm. Ask for the PDF and a shortlist for your line.
