CONTROLLERS AND OTHER MITSUBISHI ELECTRIC EQUIPMENT FOR THE FOOD INDUSTRY
As you know, the food and beverage industries impose very high requirements to automation. Many of these requirements are known and followed by all producers. However, there are specific needs that are not immediately recognizable. For example, for the work with the flour, it is necessary to take into account the fact that dust-air mixtures of certain concentrations are explosive (if dust is made of flammable material, including flour). In this case, special attention should be paid to the control of the work of exhaust systems. Mitsubishi Electric has many years of experience in implementation of automation systems in all sectors of the food industry, taking into account the nuances of work in this area and anticipating possible emergencies in advance. Mitsubishi Electric controllers are based on System Q automation platform, which is a combining configuration to support all aspects of control, i.e. general control, process control, flow control, and information exchange control.
At each stage of production, the company offers cost-effective and highly efficient solutions for automation of production.
Bins
To feed the raw materials, the frequency transducers are used. This allows to save energy and to reduce the load on mechanical components. The precise control of rotation frequency allows precise feeding of ingredients into the mixing unit. The use of reliable PLC’s helps to order additional raw materials in time and keep automatic logging.
Production
As a result of implementation of C Batch S88 system of batch production control based on PAC Mitsubishi Electric hardware, the recipe processing is transferred from the PC platform to PAC platform. Batch production control systems based on the recipes are easy to handle, but it does not reduce their capabilities and the level of abstraction. The user interface is represented as Batch View software set on the operator’s panel of GOT series.
Interface between the production and control level
C-controllers of hardy industry design provide direct communication between the shop (or the unit) and the plant control system. Due to Mitsubishi C-controllers, the data exchange starts directly at the PLC level, which reduces the risk. Mitsubishi has developed the intelligent solutions for local logging of emergency alarm and data in the PLC.
Packing equipment
Due to the high precision and high speeds of packaging production (e.g. in bottlers), the automation equipment shall maintain a very accurate and continuous material flow. Mitsubishi Electric controllers have all the necessary properties to securely control the processes at the very high speeds. For the accurate and high-speed labeling, as well as high-performance and efficient bottling, Mitsubishi offers the solutions based on equipment, such as PLC’s, servo amplifiers and frequency transducers, being simple and cost-effective.
Material flow control systems
Mitsubishi Electric offers central automation platform easily connected with robots, conveyors, scanners, etc. CC-Link network ensures quick and cheap integration of such devices at the level of control. For on-line management and control, the sensor panels of GOT1000 series can be connected to the controller panel.
Technologies of the warehouses
The last stage of production process is to send products. In this case, the goods shall be ordered from the warehouse, equipped and packaged for the customer. It means that quick and efficient handling of goods and tracking of products and processes is necessary. These tasks are perfectly solved with the help of MR-J3-B Mitsubishi servo system, connected with iQ and C-controller platform for linkage with the systems of higher levels. And it would be great to save energy at the same time, using frequency transducers, wouldn’t it?
